《三字经》里边说:“人之初,性本善。苟不教,性乃迁,性相近,习相远。”大概柴老师柴习远的名字由此而来吧!如果一定要说柴老师同我们周围的人“习相远”的话,那就是他那种对党的教育事业无限忠诚,对医术精益求精,全心全意为学生和家乡的父老乡亲着想的精神境界是我们无法比拟的。1976年,随着“文化大革命”的结束,党也给柴习远这位因地主成份而备受磨难的饱学青年带来了人生的春天。第2年,他参加了民办教师转正考试,以优异的成绩被录用为中学语文教师,先后在校尉中学和古城中学工作。他以兢兢业业的工作态度,过硬的教学能力很快赢得了师生的信赖。校尉中学的高中班撤了,柴老师又挑起了初三毕业班班主任和语文课老师两副重担。所带班级在第一次小中专考试中考中4人,以其班额小,中考升学率高引起了市教委的重视,得到了社会的好评。就在这一年,他光荣地加入了中国共产党。1984年,柴老师调入古城中学任教,这时的柴老师已经成了武威市南乡小有“名气”
