IM Pei is a world famous architect. He was born in China, but then developed into the United States. Prior to studying engineering at MIT, he studied for a master’s degree at Harvard University and studied at Gropius. IM Pei’s early works are biased toward Western geometric architecture and more modernized buildings like the Central Station and the Louvre Pyramid. However, he also wrote: "My architectural design never deliberately go to China, but Chinese culture has a profound impact on me .I love Chinese poetry, painting, garden, that is my source of inspiration. From this we can see that although he accepted the western science education in architecture, the stigma of Chinese culture did not disappear from him, but only integrated into his works. As early as the graduate student, he once designed the museum for Chinese works of art, this design won the appreciation of his mentor Gropius, which strengthened his enthusiasm to design a building with Chinese elements. This one of his designs was realized in the later construction of Suzhou Museum.
