我在岁数很小的时候,就由报刊上知道谢刚主先生的大名。五十年代初,我在地摊购得《东明历》抄本,兴趣所至,曾细读谢先生的名作《晚明史籍考》,于其考证详密,文笔清雅,深为服膺。后来谢先生到历史研究所来了,可是我对明史所知无多,没有机会请教。“文革”前,我和杨超同志都有意整理研究明清之际的学术史, 事情也未做成。我和谢先生接触较多,倒是在“文革”的几年间。 1985年谢刚主先生在陕西人民出版社出版的《两汉社会生活概述》,卷首有他1981年4月撰写的前言, 其间提到:“一九四七、一九四八年间,余避地上海,在河南路一角小楼上,为银行商家司笔札之役,乃于业余撰写《清初东北流人考》及《汉代画象考》。……到一九五一年适为至德周叔先生六十寿辰,即把写于十字街头的
