柳湜是我国现代文化史上优秀的新闻出版家、政论家和教育活动家。三十年代他先后在上海、汉口、重庆等地从事党的文化工作,曾与李公朴、艾思奇等共同主编《读书生活》半月刊,并任《生活日报》、《全民周刊》、《全民抗战》等进步报刊的编委、主编。同时还为《中报·自由谈》、《大众生活》、《太白》等许多进步刊物撰稿,内容涉及当时的时局、社会动态、青年生活等题材。大量的文章先后编为《如何生活》、《社会相》、《街头讲话》、《柳湜论文选》、《救亡的基本认识》、《实践论》、《国难与文化》等文集。可谓佳作连翩,新著
Liu Li is an excellent news publisher, political commentator and educational activist in the history of modern Chinese culture.
