通过民族志(1998~2000)的理解,在贵州东部村寨两性共享的家屋空间与两性分工的脉络里,由布的物性与生命史,描述苗族当家女人与布之间的亲密及经由布的生产、消费及交换所建立与再现的亲属世界。其中,母亲与女儿经由贴身物的传承,展现与父系结群理想的对话性。作为主体民族志的实作与反思,在交织着民族志田野与书写者主体经验的人类学理解过程里,布之于母亲与我,融入布之于苗族村寨当家女人与女儿,成为探索与阐述的中介与焦点。
