Diamond is the hardest substance in the world. Synthetic diamond is a science challenge. In 1955, the United States first synthesized high-pressure diamonds. Since then it is widely believed that diamond synthesis must be carried out in a thermodynamically stable area. Therefore, high pressure and high temperature are prerequisites for diamond synthesis. Actually, this view is not necessarily correct because, as early as ten years ago, the Soviet Union synthesized a few microns thick diamond film under low pressure. Japan made the same synthesis five years ago and achieved success. However, this achievement has been neglected by the world. Until today, Europe and the United States have realized the tremendous industrial potential of this achievement.
