In recent years, due to the emergence of a batch of new main battle tanks, people have drawn great attention to the new developments in the field of armored combat vehicles. These emerging main battle tanks are the Leopards II in West Germany, the XM-1 in the United States and Chivutan in the United Kingdom. The three models are currently in different stages of testing and are scheduled to begin their production in the late 1970s. Most of the work on the next generation of these tanks does not go beyond the model stage and most of them fall into the category of technical assumptions.
