人们都知道纪晓岚是清代著名学者和文学家,殊不知他还是一位大收藏家。纪公在做学问的闲暇,十分喜欢收藏。他一生嗜砚成癖,其书斋也有“九十九砚斋”之称,所以在流传至今的遗物中,大部分是砚石。在《阅微草堂砚谱》中可以看到他藏砚的拓片,除了乾隆帝御赐的一方之外,其余都是他自己多年收存或友人赠送的。石砚本身也许并无多大价值,但文达(纪晓岚谥号)公每砚必铭,所有藏砚都镌刻着体现一代文宗睿智才思的铭文。
