When T cells react with antigens, there must be the presence of antigen presenting cells (APCs). The function of APCs is still unknown. Initially, APCs were considered as adherent cells such as macrophages and dendritic cells. However, B cells and other cells were also found some years ago. On the other hand, it has been reported that the antigen-presenting function of adherent cells is different from that of B cells. When using adherent cells as APCs, IL-2 is produced and proliferated (?). However, when B cells are used as antigens, IL-2 production is significantly increased and IL-2 receptor production T cells proliferate in large numbers. Although the same antigen, but due to different APC, T cell response is also different.
