Disk storage is developing rapidly. One of the key technologies of its success is the continuous and rapid development of the dynamic pressure type floating head slider. In the high-speed rotation of the disk, the working surface of the slider (toward the surface of the disk) and the distance between the disks should always maintain a very small gap, for example, up to 0.5 microns. The Reynolds equation is an equation describing the floating mechanism of the slider and the correlation of the parameters in the floating dynamics. This article will systematically elaborate on the Reynolds equation, explain the float floating mechanism, and finally, to make a general discussion of the assumptions.
