Objective To investigate the causes of glandular cystitis. Methods The telomere length of peripheral blood lymphocytes in 23 patients with glandular cystitis (experimental group) was detected by flow cytometry in situ hybridization (FlowFish). Paired healthy subjects of the same sex and age were used as a control group, and cultured cells were used as an internal control. Results The telomere length (Q FISH) of peripheral blood lymphocytes in experimental group and control group was 0.90 ± 0.22 in the experimental group and 0.70 ± 0.22 in the control group Very significant difference (P <0.01). Conclusions The telomere length of peripheral blood lymphocytes in patients with cystitis glandularis is significantly greater than that of the control group, and thus the possibility of increased telomerase activity in patients with glandular cystitis
