Slope cultivation of terraced fields, the Loess Plateau to maintain water and soil is an important measure, but also the construction of basic farmland in this area. With the practice of terraced fields and the deepening of understanding and development of mechanized terraced fields, the width of terraced fields has been appropriately increased in many places (generally 10 meters or 10 meters in steep slopes and 20-30 meters in general in gentle slope areas) Adapt to mechanical farming, irrigation and drought and soil moisture requirements. Increasing the width of terraces will inevitably lead to the increase of terraced ridge. The height of terraced rice fields built on steep slopes will generally be 4 to 5 meters, and some may reach 6 to 7 meters. As a result, traditional terraced hard-top terraces are built, resulting in Training difficulties and easy to slip and other issues. Therefore, in recent years, many areas have adopted the cut-off part of the steep-ridge hard 埂, fill part 地 of the form of the accumulation of the soil, forming a complex steep slope of the lower ridge, this terraced form is the so-called duplex 埂Terraced fields, or simply duplex terraces.
