范紫东名凝绩,字紫东,是陕西乾县灵源乡西营寨村人,在家排行老三,“人称三先生”。紫东是秦腔戏剧作家,曾任西安易俗社评议长,编辑主任,共编秦腔剧本六十余种,其代表作品《三滴血》、《软玉屏》等流传甚广。他有才华,有民族正义感,为人正直、厚道,在做人上,安贞守素,注重名节,没有奴颜媚骨,一生光明磊落。范紫东在乾县家乡人民心中享有很高的声望,现将流传在家乡人民口头上的有关传说故事以及他的亲友、学生的回忆整理出来,
