在“花中四君子”“岁寒三友”中,均有竹的位次,可见其文化意蕴深厚,自然禀赋美好。《诗经》有云:“瞻彼淇奥,菉竹猗猗,有斐君子,如切如磋,如琢如磨。”传统经典将竹和君子联系在一起,表达了人们对竹的喜爱和赞美。在我看来,竹并非世间俗物,它蕴含着诸多美好的品质。竹,刚正不阿。它四季常青、挺拔,始终保持着自己的本色,不因外界环境的改变而改变,从不阿谀奉承,保持一种独立之精神,像是有思想的哲人。竹,其貌不扬,虽不像牡丹那么娇艳,不像松柏那般粗壮,

Bamboo does not look handsome, although it is not as beautiful as peony, and it is not as thick as pine and cypress.
