目前我国有聚丙烯生产企业50多家,主要是大型石油化工企业.其中聚丙烯年产量在1万吨以上的企业有20多家,5万吨以上的企业有6家,而燕山石化公司、扬子石化公司和金山石油化工股份公司3家的年产量均超过10万吨.燕山石油化工公司1996年的聚丙烯产量为15.52万吨,而1998年底新建的年产能力20万吨聚丙烯装置的投产,使燕化公司聚丙烯年生产能力达35.5万吨,成为我国聚丙烯生产能力最大的企业.1998年我国聚丙烯产量突破200万吨达到203万吨,同比增长24.2%.
