这是一个不排外的城市。上饶的主城区并不大,有三清路、凤凰大道、五三大道、滨江路,为四横,东西向;紫阳大道、带湖路、庆丰路、广信大道,为四纵,南北向。附主城区,有水南街和三江。水南街只有水南路和丰溪路,依山傍水。三江即汪家园,一条主干道叫叶挺大道。叶挺于1941年皖南事变后,被国民党扣押,关押在上饶集中营长达半年,与国民党进行了激烈的斗争。上饶集中营旧址即落在汪家园。取名叶挺大道是对这段峥嵘岁月的纪念。我1994年调到市里上班时,城区人口仅三十余万人,现在已有五十余万。
