千分尺丝杆磨损后的螺距误差会引起千分尺的示值误差,因而它是一项重要的修理项目。在修理千分尺丝杆螺距误差时,普遍采用的是螺母与千分尺丝杆“对研”的方法。这种方法要根据示值的正负确定研磨时的加力方向,加力的大小和加力的部位等,因而一般不易掌握。而且这种方法修理后往往会使丝杆中径二端大,中间小,而使得微分螺母无法调整其轴向窜动;又使丝杆的螺纹的牙形被研磨得如同橄榄形,使得丝杆寿命短暂;又由于螺纹的牙底研磨不到而使牙底浅平,若与微分螺母的牙尖相碰,就会出现示值不稳定现象和轴向窜动大等弊病。
