To the editor:Myocardial abscess is a rare but serious and lifethreatening disease.It is difficult to differentiate between myocardial abscess and acute myocardial infarction (AMI),especially in patient whose electrocardiograph (ECG) reveals a significant ST-elevation over the anterior wall.1rnA 33-year-old Chinese man was admitted to our hospital with a two-month history of chest pain,many nodule-like rashes on his body mainly at extremities for one month,and a two-day history of high fever.He had 15-year history of heavy smoking and liquor consumption (500 g/d).On admission,his consciousness is clear,with heart rate of 137 beats/min in sinus rhythm,blood pressure of 90/60 mmHg,and the temperature of 39.1℃.His fingers and toes showed necrotic color with some pea-sized nodules.The heart sounds were very low,without pericardial friction sounds.
