Many important sedimentary rocks and sedimentary deposits are chemical and biochemical sediments. Sedimentary environment, the hydrogen ion concentration (pH) and oxidation-reduction potential (Eh) is to control the deposition of the two basic factors, and therefore from the perspective of pH and Eh sedimentary environment, sediment formation and classification, with great theoretical significance and practice significance. R.M. Garrels has done a lot of research work in this area, published many books, such as “Minerals, Solutions and Equilibria” is a very famous one. Here, according to Garrels’ book, taking modern marine sediment as an example, this article briefly introduces how to study the sedimentary conditions of various minerals and the symbiotic combinations formed from the specific conditions of a sedimentary basin and how, in turn,
