As a growth factor, transforming growth factor-β (TGF-β) has become a hot spot in recent years for its biological effects and mechanism of action in corneal wound repair, especially corneal epithelial repair. The study found that: TGF-β can regulate the biological behavior of epithelial cells through different signaling pathways, in order to give full play to TGF-β to promote cell proliferation, extracellular matrix formation, cell migration induced by the positive effect, the scholars try to Gene blocking the negative phase regulatory pathway-Smad signal transduction pathway, which opened up a new therapeutic approach for the treatment of various causes of corneal trauma. This review summarizes recent advances in the role of TGF-β signaling in the repair of corneal wounds.
