This paper presents a two-stage adaptive vector quantization of X-ray images sequence coding scheme. Each frame image in the sequence is first decomposed into a set of vectors corresponding to blocks of pixels that do not overlap in space and are adjacent. Using a set of vectors derived from a sequence to generate a code book, each vector can be translated into the closest code symbol in the code book, which is stored in the memory of the label map at both ends of the communication channel .
