2.1 Introduction This article calculates the signal-to-noise ratio for each point of the AROD system that is of interest when studying the performance of the following subsystems. Another purpose of this article is to demonstrate a similar calculation by Motolora and to identify its assumptions. Therefore, various signal-to-noise ratios of the VTR, the answering station control receiver (SCR) and their data demodulators are listed here. Now that the signal-to-voice ratio for many important parts of these subsystems has been calculated, the VTR is calculated in several different distances from 12 km to 37,000 km,
