现代工业文明是不可持续的,生态文明是人类文明的必由之路,形塑现代工业文明的意识形态是现代性思想。物质主义价值导向是现代性的要害,独断理性主义是现代性的基石。现代工业文明的价值多元是一种假象,物质主义才是现代工业文明的基本精神。后物质主义也只是物质主义的新表现。恰是物质主义这种精神使人们沉溺于“大量生产、大量消费、大量排放”而不能自拔。生态文明建设呼唤的人文精神就是超越物质主义的精神。超越物质主义有不同的精神路径,儒释道三家都是超越物质主义的精神路径,生态化的基督教同样可以成为超越物质主义的精神路径。
Modern industrial civilization is unsustainable. Ecological civilization is the only way for human civilization. The ideology shaping modern industrial civilization is modernity. Materialistic value orientation is the key to modernity. Dictatorshipism is the cornerstone of modernity. The diversity of values of modern industrial civilization is an illusion. Materialism is the basic spirit of modern industrial civilization. Post-materialism is only a new manifestation of materialism. It is precisely this kind of spirit of materialism that makes people addicted to “mass production, mass consumption, large emissions” and can not extricate themselves. The humane spirit called for by ecological civilization construction is beyond the spirit of materialism. There are different spiritual paths beyond materialism. Confucianism, Buddhism and Taoism are all spiritual paths beyond materialism. Ecological Christianity can also become a spiritual path beyond materialism.
