光明日报刊文说,记录中国幸存“慰安妇”的纪录电影《二十二》自上映以来,吸引着不同年龄段的观众走进影院,了解那场发生在我国20万女性身上的人道主义灾难。作为一部聚焦“慰安妇”的电影,《二十二》的叙事平静而克制,被镜头记录的老人们吃饭、聊天、微笑、唱歌、给猫娃子喂食、抚育后代,只有在被问及“慰安妇”的过往时,才会流露出被岁月掩藏的难过。影片导演郭柯在接受采访时表示,他想让画面温暖一点,将那些带有标签的老人们还原为活生生的样子,让她们身上负载的历史以一种带有温度的方式让后人感知。
