泰特现代美术馆位于英国伦敦泰晤士河南岸,前身是一座发电站,后来由瑞士建筑师雅克·赫尔佐格和皮埃尔·德·梅隆改建成一座博物馆并于2000年正式开放。它的建筑十分有特色,高耸入云的大烟囱是它的标志。泰特现代美术馆专门收藏20世纪以来的现当代艺术作品,其中毕加索、马蒂斯、安迪瓦豪、蒙德里安、达利等人的作品最为有名。它是世界最著名的当代美术馆之一,每年都有超数百万名的游客到访。
Located on the south bank of the Thames in London, England, the Tate Modern is a powerhouse formerly converted into a museum by the Swiss architect Jacques Herzog and Pierre de Mellon and officially opened in 2000. Its architecture is very characteristic, towering big chimney is its sign. Tate Modern Art Museum specializes in the collection of modern and contemporary works of art since the 20th century, of which Picasso, Matisse, Andy Wah Ho, Mondrian, Dali and others are the most famous works. It is one of the most famous contemporary art galleries in the world and has visited millions of tourists every year.
