Vasoactive intestinal peptide (VIP) is widely found in animals and human brains, spinal cord and peripheral nerves. It is particularly abundant in nerves that control cerebral blood vessels. This experiment observed the content of VIP in brain microvessels of animals and its effect on acute brain. Changes during ischemia. Materials and methods: Animals Wistar male 27 rats, 200-321.5 g, 22 gerbils, 50-69.5 g, male, provided by the Institute of Laboratory Animal Research in our hospital. Ischemic animal model Wistar rats were anesthetized with urethane (1g/kg, ip) and the bilateral common carotid arteries were ligated and passed through a small amount.
