在当代油画创作中,风景题材在油画中有“走钢丝”之说,一不留神,媚俗,落套是常见问题。这些年我的大部分画恰恰是风景,深感风景油画要画出点名堂确实不易。艺术创作首先要有感动,我们目所能及的地方都是风景,只是并不是每个地方都能让人感动,任何一幅画的产生都面临选择,而那些能感动人的东西、最让人刻骨铭心的东西,就是我们要表现的所在。我在画《通往西故城的小路》时曾写下这么一段
