“貴刊很切实际,对我們的帮助很大。但觉得文章太长,专业面太窄。”这是一封讀者来信中的两句話。前一句,我們不敢当;后一句却激起了我們的共鸣。目前鉄路标准設計已有十一二个专业,而經常有文章于本刊的不过四五个。从一定意义上說,专业面窄也正是长文太多的后果。本刊每期容量八九万字,而有些来稿,一篇就两三万甚至四五万字。为着讀者的方便,我們又不便把它砍得太碎,这样一来,其他专业的稿子就只好让路了。技术稿子能不能写得短些?我們的回答是肯定的。自然,有的技术問題較复杂,字少了难以論述透彻;但若能注意以下五点,压縮些文字恐怕还是可能的。一、能分篇写的,不要合起来写。有的同志認为自己所要談的問題都十分重要,似乎非一下子說完不可,因此一篇文章就往往討論七八个甚至十来个問題,并且把笔墨平均地分配在各个问題上。这
