国际岩土力学计算方法与进展协会(International Association for Computer Methods and Advances in Geomechanics,IACMAG)主席John Carter教授日前致电清华大学,我学会副理事长杨强教授,祝贺他获得Desai奖。该奖将在今年9月在日本京都召开的第14届IACMAG大会上颁发,杨强并获邀做大会报告。Desai奖是IACMAG的顶级学术大奖,此前获得该奖的华人学者仅有英国诺丁汉大学的余海岁教授和香港理工大学的殷建华教授。杨强长期从事岩体损伤力学及其热力学基础研究,该研究获得2010年中国岩石力学与工程学会自然科学特等奖。2013
Professor John Carter, chairman of International Association for Computer Methods and Advances in Geomechanics (IACMAG), recently called Professor Yang Qiang, vice president of Tsinghua University, and congratulated him on winning the Desai Award. The award will be presented at the 14th IACMAG Conference in Kyoto, Japan in September this year. Yang Qiang was invited to give a conference report. The Desai Award is the IACMAG’s top academic award, and the Chinese scholars who previously won the award were Yu Hai-soon from Nottingham University and Professor Yin Jianhua from Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Yang Qiang has been engaged in the study of rock mass damage mechanics and its thermodynamics for a long time. This research won the 2010 National Natural Science Award of China Society of Rock Mechanics and Engineering. 2013
