The shape of the stratum and their relationship with terrigenous sediments reflect the tectonic setting of the sedimentary basin. In central Brazil, strata appear in the Paleozoic, Vazante and Bambui ’groups of Mesoproterozoic and Neoproterozoic. According to the study of sedimentology and mineralogy, the Paranoa ’group is formed in the passive margin basin while the other two groups are formed in the foreland basin. The Vazante group is deposited near the mountains that form the Brazilian fold belt, whereas most of the Bam bui ’group is formed in the craton area. Changes in morphology and size of the monoliths in the Paranoa ’group and the Bambui’ group, usually away from the mountain folds, are associated with changes in the environment. Frequent variations in columnar growth and the irregular interplay of abundant terrigenous material into the stratigraphic rocks characterize the active tectonic setting, for example in the western part of the Vazante, Paranoa ’and Bam bui’ clusters
