In 2007, the composition of the ground forces in the United States military forces in Iraq underwent great changes. Its biggest bright spot is the start of large-scale special anti-mined anti-ambush vehicles (MRAPs) of various types and varieties, becoming the important equipment that the U.S. soldiers depend on for survival on the battlefield. The emergence of these vehicles not only highlights the complex environment and characteristics confronting the current anti-terrorist operations, but also reflects the changes in the operational methods of the U.S. military. The role played by these vehicles after they have been put on the battlefield, despite the mixed opinions of various quarters, has indeed become a consensus among the armed forces of all countries to provide units with better protective equipment and enhance their battlefield survivability.
