This paper introduces the characteristics of software and radio technology and the characteristics of “software and radio” course. It discusses the common experimental platform USRP, the open source software GNU Radio and the experiment that can be set up on the platform. The article also gives the application of FM radio based on USRP and GNU Radio Receiver detailed design process, the system architecture, motherboard design flow, daughter board design flow, GNU Radio Companion modular design and parameters were discussed in detail, the receiver built received a number of local radio broadcast information.
