贾祖璋先生曾任福建省第4～6届政协常委、中国民主促进会福建省委主委,是浙江省海宁县人。贾祖璋先生虽是浙江人,却与福建结下了不解之缘!他两次来到福建,第一次是抗战胜利前夕,受开明书店之命前来崇安赤石镇开明书店东南办事处,主持编辑业务。不过,这次来闽时间很短,不到一年。第二次是1970年,他被迫退休与已经下放在闽南平和山村的儿子家人一起生活。此后,直到1988年逝世,他一直在福建生活和写作,时间长达18年。他的骨灰也留在了福建。贾祖璋1945年春来到崇安赤石镇,受到福建著名茶叶专家吴觉农先生的欢迎和支持。吴先生把自己一座三层西式楼房腾出供办事处使用,并兼任办事处监察人。贾祖璋来后做的最重要一件事就是秘密重印茅盾的《子夜》。当时,《子夜》在上海出版后影响很大,受到敌寇的追查,开明书店老板章锡
Mr. Jia Zuzhang served as the 4th to 6th CPPCC Standing Committee of Fujian Province, Fujian Provincial Committee of China Association for the Promotion of the chair, Haining County, Zhejiang Province. Though he was a native of Zhejiang, Mr. Jia Zu-zang was inextricably bound with Fujian.
