巴斯奈特——麦基尔是一位英国学者,在沃里克大学任教,多年来一直给研究生上翻译理论课,积累了丰富的经验。他的著作《翻译研究》就是他多年研究成果的结晶。书中对问题分析精当,既有借鉴又有独道之处,理论联系实际,具有重要的实践意义。这部著作的汉译在国内尚未和广大读者见面。本文系该书的第二部分。这一部分对了解西方翻译史有一定的参考价值。本刊从1989年第四期起予以连载,以飨读者。
Barnett-McGill, a British scholar who teaches at Warwick University, has been teaching graduate students a number of years in translation theory and has accumulated rich experience. His book Translation Studies is the result of his many years of research. The book analysis of the problem of precision, both for reference and have their own way, theory with practice, with important practical significance. The translation of this book in China has not yet met with the readers. This article is the second part of the book. This part of the understanding of Western translation history has some reference value. This issue has been serialized since the fourth issue in 1989 to readers.
