Pen-and-ink strokes can be traced back to the early European era of using reeds and quills. It took more than 20 years for China to determine the type of painting that used the pen as a painting tool. Pen-ink painting became an independent type of painting at the end of 19th century. It is a kind of painting with unique expressiveness. I usually devote a great deal of time to the design of space. I deeply realize that space is produced by the illumination of light.
