三十烷醇(Triacontanol)是一种快速、低剂量、无毒的植物生长调节剂,在光照或无光照的情况下,都能有效地促进蛋白质的合成.早在1933年,Chibnall等人首先从苜蓿中分离出三十烷醇,并认为它是苜蓿叶蜡的主要成份.1975年Riece用千苜蓿作有机肥施用时,发现它比用同等氮肥增产效果更为显著.随后,他们从苜蓿中分离出高活性的结晶物质,质谱法分析证明是正一三十烷醇.同时用合成的三十烷醇进行对照试验,获得同样的效果.一系列室内及大田试验,证明三十烷醇对玉米、水稻、小麦蕃茄、黄瓜、胡萝卜、大豆、莴苣等作物均有显著的增产效果.
