中卫县碱湖林场位于中卫县引黄灌区的最西部,南边是黄河,北边是腾格里沙漠。温差大,气候干燥,年降雨量202.1毫米,蒸发量3000多毫米。由于黄河地下潜水的补充,地下水位高。常年风多沙大,风蚀、沙割、沙埋相当严重。特别是春夏交替季节,风沙尤为频繁。新栽树木很难固定。如何提高造林的成活率,是目前存在的主要问题。
