The concept of literary and artistic functions advocated by Mao Zedong, Deng Xiaoping and Jiang Zemin, the core of the three generations of the Communist Party of China, directly controls and standardizes the value orientation of Chinese literature and art since the latter half of the 20th century and lays the theoretical foundation for the socialist literary and artistic functions.
