建国以来,延边朝鲜族自治州在党的民族政策光辉照耀下,经济繁荣,人民幸福。尤其是教育事业发展很快,在全国少数民族地区名列前茅。早在一九五二年延边朝鲜族自治州刚成立的时候,这里的朝鲜族就普及了小学教育。到一九八五年朝鲜族普及了中学教育。现在,延边八个县市都已经达到教育部规定的普及要求。这个自治州每一万人有小学生1150人,初中生633人,
