长影96年岁末摄制完成的彩色故事片《喜莲》,是导演孙沙1996年继《红月亮》之后执导的第二部故事片,也是他从《九香》始,“乡村女人”三部曲之三。《喜莲》表现了一个乡村女人在自身道路上对于自己命运的抉择,饱含人文精神。影片着力刻画了一个不认命、不认穷,敢想、敢干,为乡村父老开辟了一条致富路的女性动人形象,喜莲好似60年代的李双双,会给人留下长久的记忆。影片送审通过后,受到首都部分电影专家的认可与好评,并被广电部列入1996年度第三批重点片。
