Since the 19th century, people mainly use tin cans or glass bottles as long-term storage containers for food. These containers are relatively heavy, easily damaged, expensive and difficult to handle after use. In order to overcome these shortcomings, soft canned packaging materials have been developed. It is polyester, aluminum foil, polyolefin and other materials with adhesives or other special treatment methods bonded into a composite film. The use of such composite films as soft cans in lieu of tin cans has many advantages. However, the composition and properties of such composite films have different requirements due to the composition of the food and the processing technology of the canned food.
