孙永福,1941年2月生于陕西长安县,1962年毕业于长沙铁道学院(现中南大学)桥隧系。在铁路基层单位从事工程技术和管理工作22年。1984年12月担任铁道部副部长、党组成员,2001年5月任铁道部党组副书记、副部长,青藏铁路建设领导小组副组长(正部长级)。他长期主管全国铁路建设,为中国铁路发展作出重要贡献。
Sun Yongfu, born in February 1941 in Chang’an County, Shaanxi Province, graduated from Changsha Railway Institute (now Central South University) in 1962. In railway grassroots units engaged in engineering and management for 22 years. In December 1984, he served as vice minister and party member of the Ministry of Railways. In May 2001, he was appointed as deputy secretary and deputy minister of the Party Committee of the Ministry of Railways and deputy head of the leading group for the Qinghai-Tibet Railway Construction (at the ministerial level). He has been in charge of national railway construction for a long time, making an important contribution to the development of China’s railways.
