张源《从“人文主义”到“保守主义”——〈学衡〉中的白璧德》是近来研究白璧德与学衡派关系的重要著作。以往的研究多将“《学衡》中的白璧德”等同于白璧德本身,忽视其在西方语境中的定位,即使个别研究者意识到白璧德学说在《学衡》译文中的变异,也并未进一步深究而留有遗憾。张源的研究则弥补了这一缺陷。该书以《学衡》杂志发表的白璧德著作的译文为例,通过将其与原著的细致比较阅读,考察学衡派对白璧德人文主义思想的移植与转化,探究翻译背后潜藏的文化心态。读全书,我们看到张源仅仅考察了《学衡》的七篇译文,
