“眼科”意味着细致的医疗技术,应有一套较完整的设备。但88医院的眼科设备则极其简陋,譬如,常用的检查器械间接检眼镜、基本手术的弯型角膜三角刀都没有。曾有一位到该院眼科进修的军医说:这里的设备还不如我们卫生营。宋振英同志并不因为设备简陋而向困难低头,他常这样想:上级把繁重的医疗任务交给自己,这是上级对自己的信任,作为毛泽东时代的医生,有些困难自己可以想些办法解决。所以他有乐观的、饱满的工作情绪
