我学习英语的经历没有什么传奇色彩。和大多数同龄人一样,我是从初中开始学习英语的。我所在的山西平遥第一中学是省里的一所名校,“大跃进”年代曾一度是一所综合大学,随着大跃进的降温而被降格还原为中学,但相当雄厚的师资力量却得以保存,英语教师中多数是各大学英语专业的优秀毕业生,还有从朝鲜战场上下来的英文翻译。初学英语,倍感新奇,也格外用心。课上竖着耳朵听,睁大眼睛看,生怕漏掉老师说的一句话,试图记住老师写在黑板上的每个词;课下认真完成作业,还靠着一本商务印书馆出版的《袖珍英汉辞典》复习、预习功课。学了不到两年,居然可以进行简单的英语会话,甚至还可以用英语写简单的信件了。学习上进步明显,心里高兴,对英语的兴趣越发浓厚,学习的劲头也就更足了。但好景不长,众
