2009年2月19日,湖北省民族宗教工作会议在武汉召开。省教育厅、省财政厅、省交通厅、省农业厅、省林业局、省卫生厅等六家省民宗委委员单位在大会上作经验发言。委员单位的发言充分体现了维护民族团结的大局观念、支持少数民族发展的责任意识、为少数民族办实事的服务理念。各级各部门齐心协力,克难攻坚,支持少数民族和民族地区加快发展取得了显著成绩,健全完善民族政策有新突破;帮扶民族地区加快发展有新成效;为少数民族群众办实事有新举措;支持散居少数民族和援藏援疆工作有新进展;健全委员单位协调机制有创新。委员制下的湖北民族工作呈现出一派欣欣向荣的局面。
