太湖流域位于长江三角洲,流域以江堤、海塘为外围防线。江堤、海塘全长约542公里,长江沿岸以福山口为界,以上为江堤,以下为海塘。钱塘江沿岸全部是海塘。江堤顶高取决于长江水位及潮位,海塘顶高只决定于潮位。流域内长江及钱塘江江堤、海塘高程详见图一。一、江苏省境内江堤海塘流域江苏省境内江堤、海塘,从镇江市丹阳县复生圩起,到苏沪交界的浏河口为止,总长207公里,其中江堤约143公里(福山口以上),海塘约69公里。各市县境内江堤海塘长度列于表。
