The autobiography of Augustus is a major legacy left by the UDH to the world and was honored by the historian Monsen as the queen of Latin inscriptions. The “autobiography” has far-reaching conception and is a political textbook that Augustus elaborated for future generations. It contains many Roman-style experiences of running the country. In-depth analysis of Augustus’s view of political achievement is of great significance to our understanding of Roman political culture.
