名物化是指语言中 ,一些词、词组和短语 ,甚至包括名词本身 ,经过附加词缀或变形 ,或者经过结构的修饰 ,从而具有名词的性质。中文是没有词形变化的。古汉语里的名物化常常是用“者” ,“所”这些虚词 ,或者是什么虚词都不用的句法结构 (syntacticalnominalization)来达到的。因为汉语无论古今均无词形变化 ,所以用现代汉语来翻译古汉语 ,这个特殊的语法结构就很难得到充分而准确的表现。通过讨论古汉语教学中名物化的英译问题 ,我们可以更清楚地看到英译在教学中的积极作用
Materialization refers to the language, some words, phrases and phrases, and even the noun itself, after the additional affix or deformation, or through the structural modification, which has the nature of the noun. Chinese is not inflectional. In ancient Chinese, nominalization is often achieved by the syntacticalnominalization of function words such as “and” and “or”, or the unused syntactical nouns. Because Chinese has no morphological changes both in ancient and modern times, the use of modern Chinese to translate ancient Chinese makes it difficult to obtain a full and accurate representation of this particular grammatical structure. By discussing the problems of English translation in the teaching of ancient Chinese, we can see more clearly the positive role of English translation in teaching
