笔者不无遗憾地发现 ,国内常用的近 1 0余种英汉词典对某些常用的英谚翻译都不同程度地存在着误译现象。笔者认为误译是由于下列因素造成的 :(1 )望文生义 (2 )忽视英语谚语结构的特殊性 (3)借用中国谚语译英语谚语 (4)词汇误译 (5)译文过于平淡。另外 ,笔者还认为是文化的多样性限制了谚语的可译性
The author not only regretfully found that nearly 10 kinds of English-Chinese dictionaries commonly used in China have misinterpreted the translation of some common English proverbs in varying degrees. The author believes that mistranslation is caused by the following factors: (1) Wang Wenwenyi (2) ignoring the particularity of English proverb structure (3) borrowing Chinese proverbs to translate English proverbs (4) mistranslation of words (5) translation is too plain. In addition, I also believe that cultural diversity limits the translatability of proverbs
